Amplifying Voices. Inspiring Change.

We believe storytelling has the power to challenge norms, inspire action, and foster meaningful connections.

Beyond the Margins is the advocacy arm of Page & Parlor, amplifying marginalized voices through community events, storytelling, and creative expression. Through this initiative we are fostering a culture that values diverse perspectives, actively resists censorship, and champions intellectual freedom and social justice.

  • Ink and Impact Fellowship

In partnership with Lavender Education, we created the Ink & Impact Fellowship, a nine-month program uplifting emerging writers who explore gender, sexuality, and marginalized identities.

Led by writer and historian Kimm Topping, the fellowship supports LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, disabled writers, and women with mentorship, funding, and creative resources. It culminates in readings and workshops at Page & Parlor, celebrating storytelling as a catalyst for community and change.

  • Challenging Book Bans and Censorship

Across the country, a coordinated effort is underway to restrict access to diverse stories and silence marginalized voices. Book bans disproportionately impact underrepresented communities, erasing vital narratives from classrooms and libraries.

Join us in defending the right to learn. Sign the ACLU pledge today and receive the Right to Learn Toolkit - resources to help you push back against censorship in your schools and communities.

  • Fostering Community Through Creative Expression

We invite you to connect and engage through creative expression at Page & Parlor. Our events, such as black out poetry workshops, open mics, storytelling nights and immersive experiences foster a welcoming and collaborative environment. Join us in celebrating the art of expression and building a community that thrives on dialogue and connection.
